DART Student Art Contest 2021

DART Student Art Contest 2021

ABOUT THE CONTEST

Each year, DART hosts a Student Art Contest that is open to students at all grade levels throughout North Texas. It has grown to be one of the agency’s most popular Education Outreach events. This year, more than 127 schools and organizations submitted 688 entries.

Students are challenged to illustrate an annual theme through lines, color and composition. Each young artist found his or her own way to illustrate this year’s theme: “Everyday Heroes Ride DART.” Heroes come in many forms, and we are celebrating this year’s DART Student Art Contest winners who saluted the hometown heroes that have kept our community going during the pandemic – everyday people that have made a positive impact on the lives of others over these past few months.

The Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) has partnered with DART for the past nine years and has displayed the winning entries. We welcome you to see the artworks in person at the DMA from April 21-May 16, 2021, and we are proud to present them virtually as well. Join DART and the DMA in celebrating the talent of our region’s young artists.

Seeing the passion and creativity that our young artists bring to the DART Student Art Program will remain one of my most vivid memories. Each year seems to bring new skills and imagination from the young people across our region. I am honored that we can play a small role in these promising artists’ development.
